Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and majority shareholder of Leica Camera AG, comes to Innsbruck to tell how a camera became a global brand and what still drives Leica today. With him on stage: Vienna fashion and lifestyle photographer Pat Domingo and documentary photographer Laurin Strele.

Brennweite brings together three ways of seeing: the history of a global brand, international fashion photography and documentary work from crisis zones.
In his talk “Worlds Apart: Photographing between proximity, responsibility and truth”, Laurin Strele reflects on his work in Ukraine, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and beyond: how to photograph people in moments of war, loss and existential uncertainty without exploiting their suffering.

Programme: 09:00–10:00 introduction at Leica Store South Beach Quarter; 10:00–11:45 guided photography practice; return around 12:00 for a self-arranged lunch break; 13:00–14:00 image review and feedback.
All experience levels are welcome. Bring any camera. The five-hour session includes four hours of workshop time and a lunch break.

Witnessing Conflict brings together photographs and the personal stories behind them, exploring trust, proximity and dignity when documenting conflict, displacement and social change.
For the Fotografie-Forum, the talk focuses on photojournalism as a form of witnessing: how images shape interpretation and public memory, and what responsibility comes with making, selecting and showing them.
The 60–75-minute photographic presentation is followed by a 20–30-minute audience discussion.
