Worlds Apart brings Laurin Strele’s large-format documentary photography into Sagmeister – Der Mann in Bregenz. On view through 5 September 2026, the exhibition presents work from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Jordan and Bangladesh, focusing on dignity, everyday life and resilience beyond the headlines. Simone Angerer’s scenography integrates the photographs directly into the store architecture, positioning them above clothing rails and tables rather than in a conventional gallery setting. Several works connect to Strele’s first photobook, Worlds Apart, published by Eyeshot. The exhibition can be visited during Sagmeister’s regular business hours. Admission is free.

Witnessing Conflict is a free artist talk with Laurin Strele at Leica Store & Galerie Stuttgart on Thursday, 24 September 2026, from 18:30 to 20:30. Framed by the theme “Photography between proximity, responsibility and truth,” the evening considers the decisions and ethical responsibility involved in documenting conflict. Laurin reflects on photographing in war and crisis zones, the trust built in fragile situations, and what happens when another person’s reality becomes an image. The evening concludes with an open Q&A. Admission is free, and tickets are available through Eventbrite.

In Witnessing Conflict, Austrian documentary photographer and Leica Camera Ambassador Laurin Strele reflects on work from Ukraine, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Through a photographic live essay, he examines how images from crisis regions are made, the balance between proximity and distance, and the responsibility involved in selecting and publishing documentary photographs. The presentation is followed by an open audience Q&A. The event takes place on the Main Stage at Fotomesse Tirol in Innsbruck on 25 September 2026; the exact start time will be announced by the organiser.

How do strong individual photographs become a coherent visual story? Laurin Strele draws on his documentary projects to show how subject, access, proximity, image selection, rhythm and sequence work together. The masterclass offers practical tools for developing a clear narrative from an initial idea, editing images critically and building a series in which content, perspective and structure support one another. It also addresses responsibility, trust and ethical decisions when working with people in sensitive situations. The planned format is a 60–75-minute small-group session with projection and discussion. Depending on the final group size, one or two short participant sequences may be reviewed together, with an optional portfolio review.
