Past Workshops

Workshops and mentorships held across Iraq, Syria, Bangladesh, China, and Cuba, focusing on cultural context, visual ethics, and long-form storytelling in small groups.
The Eyewitness Collective is a collaboration between Laurin Strele and Ethan Swope dedicated to documentary photography, fieldwork, and ethical storytelling. We explore long-form narratives, share practical road-tested methods, and connect photographers with meaningful opportunities around the world.
We started Eyewitness in 2025 after our joint workshop in Cuba. Since then, we’ve been developing workshops, travel labs, and collaborative projects and opening doors for committed photographers to join us in the field.
