My Work in GEO Magazine NOV 2025

I am honored to share that my latest work from Bangladesh has been published in the November 2025 issue of GEO Magazine.

The feature captures the annual Baba Loknath celebration, when thousands of Hindus gather each October to honor the revered philosopher through fasting and night-long prayers. Traditionally, the faithful illuminate their offerings with oil lamps made from banana leaves — but in recent years, the warm flicker of fire has begun to merge with the cool glow of LEDs, reflecting the quiet tension between devotion and modernity.

This photograph, taken in 2023, explores how spiritual rituals evolve in an era of rapid change, while still holding onto the essence of collective faith and identity. For me, this moment was not only about documenting a ceremony, but about witnessing how tradition adapts — how light itself becomes a symbol of continuity amid transformation.

A heartfelt thank you to the editors of GEO for including this work and for their continued commitment to in-depth documentary photography that gives space to stories of culture, belief, and human connection.

You can find the feature in the November 2025 issue of GEO (GEO 11/2025), now available in print and digital editions.
