Price & payment

The early-booking fee is €4,400 per person through 15 October 2026. The standard fee from 16 October is €5,000 per person. Pay a €1,000 deposit at booking. For new bookings, the remaining balance is due on 15 January 2027, three months before the workshop: €3,400 for early booking or €4,000 at the standard fee. Bookings made on or after 15 January require the remaining balance within 7 days of booking.

The applicable total is set by your booking date. Online booking closes on 8 April 2027; contact us about later requests.

The deposit forms part of the total fee. Pay it through the website’s checkout. The remaining balance is paid by bank transfer in EUR, using the details in your confirmation email; it is not charged automatically. Existing individual booking agreements remain unchanged.

Workshop

Photography with Laurin Strele. All meals, hotel accommodation and transport within Syria are included. International flights are not included. The workshop language is English. The group is limited to 10 participants.

Cancellation & transfers

Let us know in writing as soon as possible. A cancellation charge may reflect justified commitments already made for your booking, taking account of costs saved and any resale. Paying a deposit does not mean it is automatically forfeited.

A transfer of your booking credit to a future workshop can be arranged by agreement, subject to availability, price differences and any justified costs already incurred. Any mandatory rights to transfer a booking to another traveller remain unaffected.

If the workshop is cancelled

If we cancel the workshop, all workshop payments will be refunded, or you may choose to transfer them to a future workshop. For safety concerns or a deterioration in the security situation, we may cancel up to one month before departure.

This does not limit mandatory consumer or traveller rights, including rights arising from extraordinary circumstances closer to departure. A credit or transfer is voluntary, not a substitute imposed instead of a refund.

Travel information

Syria is currently subject to official travel warnings. The route is provisional and remains subject to an updated security assessment; it may be adapted, postponed or cancelled if conditions require it. Participants must review the official travel advice relevant to their nationality before booking and departure.

Routes and access can change. The programme is not a guarantee of access or safety. Entry requirements vary by nationality and can change. Obtain current official guidance applicable to your nationality and hold appropriate travel insurance that explicitly covers the planned journey and activities.

Check your passport and visa requirements. Ask us before making non-changeable travel arrangements. The planned route is Damascus, Saidnaya, Maaloula, Homs, Hama and Aleppo. A visit to the former Saidnaya prison is conditional on authorised access and suitable conditions and is not guaranteed. The final booking information will confirm the meeting point, arrival guidance and practical itinerary.

Your confirmation

Your confirmation email includes your workshop and dates, payment status, remaining balance and due date, bank details, booking conditions and contact person. A pending payment is not confirmation of a paid place. Orders with a different quantity, discount, currency or payment amount will be checked personally before the remaining balance is confirmed.
