The programme.

An outline of the photographic work, not a fixed daily itinerary. The sequence may change with local conditions and access.

Damascus: a considered beginning

The planned route includes documentary fieldwork in Damascus. Establish a visual direction around contemporary daily life, memory and the long-term effects of conflict. Context, consent and responsible representation shape both the approach to people and the selection of photographs.

Hama and Homs: sustained fieldwork

Continue the planned work through Hama and Homs, with the exact sequence adapted to permissions, access and local conditions. Develop the story through field assignments and consider how daily life, memory and reconstruction are represented without reducing people to a single experience.

Aleppo: connect the observations

Aleppo forms part of the planned route. Build on the visual questions developed earlier in the week and look for connections across the work. The photographic approach remains attentive to the present, the local context and the limits of what an individual image can explain.

Editing, sequencing and reflection

Field assignments are combined with editing and sequencing sessions, group reviews and individual feedback throughout the week. Use the review process to test the narrative, remove repetition and identify what requires greater care or further work.
