This archived eight-day workshop programme, dated 1 to 8 November, was developed around street, portrait, documentary and landscape photography in Bangladesh.
Participants worked with experienced guides and local support while photographing markets, historic sites, industrial settings and everyday life. The programme was designed for a small group and combined visual practice with local context.
Programme
- Dhaka: the wholesale vegetable market, cultural shopping and a ship-breaking yard
- Narshindhi and Bramhanbaria: cloth dyeing, brickfield life and rice mills
- Narayanganj: the Festival of Light and coal workers
- Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong: a dry-fish factory, wholesale fish market and salt producers

Suggested equipment
DSLR camera, a wide-angle lens for landscapes, a 50 mm lens for portraits and a sturdy tripod.
Clothing and essentials
Comfortable, modest clothing suitable for warm weather; comfortable walking shoes; a basic first-aid kit; and personal toiletries.
Visa and insurance
Bangladesh offered visas on arrival to many nationalities. Participants were asked to verify the requirements applicable to their nationality. Travel insurance was recommended.
