Flying Wall received third place in the Artist Gallery Awards.

Made at Shaolin Temple, the photograph shows young monks practising the Fei Bi technique. The gravity-defying leap is grounded in discipline and devotion, shaped through years of rigorous training.

The image looks beyond physical spectacle to the persistence required to sustain a cultural tradition. Movement becomes a record of repetition, concentration and knowledge passed between generations.

My thanks to the Artist Gallery Awards and its jury for recognising the photograph.
